Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she won the Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her role in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney has a father who was an executive in the United Auto Workers who was also an auntie. Delaney has four older brothers. Though she had a dream of becoming journalist, it wasn't until her high school years when Delaney started modeling. After moving away from New York City and gaining experience in commercials at New York did she achieve her dream of becoming aspiring court reporters. In her teens the first time she appeared as an actress was in the soap opera All My Children. The career of Delaney has been filled with a variety of television shows and dramas. Her professional career has been more successful than her private life. The accomplished actor has had to battle alcoholism, as well as two divorces. Her custody in 2005 was taken away from her.
