Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's the first artist of female gender for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. The label debuted her first EP, Pho, in October 2016, and she was able to gain recognition. The album that she released as her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music to the Internet in 2012, when she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. She continued to upload her tracks online through 2014 and released her own single Bound. In 2015, she appeared on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on 21st July. The following year, her music was circulating all over the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some potential references to Rihanna. In December 2008, the news was made public that Rihanna had contracted to Dreamville Records. In the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat with Cozz. In October 2016 the singer-songwriter released her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and was an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. Also, she was featured on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream from Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. The music video was released, followed by a music video September. She released her second single Grampa on November 9. On November 13 the singer released two new singles titled One and Pdigree. One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made an appearance on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this track as a single in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. The track was launched with a music video uploaded to YouTube February 20, 2019 has been viewed over 3 million times in the first seven days. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
